Likely a bug, but it occurs on real hardware. This game uses a particularly nasty version of Nu Romantic's pervasive music system that ended up on just about every Western-developed game after 1992. This seems to be an early version, as it's REALLY easy to kick it out of sync, even just during normal gameplay... -DJSW
