I don't know how to do any fancy ASCII art so this is gonna be bare-bones. Weight of the heart not the size and all that... --------------------------- I am proud to present to you the (so far) complete Sega Channel Soundtrack! After fairly extensive research, a beta rom hunt, ignoring my real responsibilities and thanks to AzuriteReaction's videos of the service in action, I have been able to put these songs together for your enjoyment. --------------------------- A few notes about the soundtrack: - Songs 1 through 12 were officially used for the service and are correctly labeled with the areas they were used in. Songs 13-19 were not used in the service but taken from a beta soundtrack of "Comix Zone" that was ripped by DJ SquareWave. This is where I found "Boss Opera", the track that is confirmed to have at least been played in 3 different months, July and October included. I took it upon myself to include some of the other tracks as they are not available in MP3 format and I feel they fit well enough in the confines of The Channel. Gave them names as well. Song 20 is unique in that it is an amazing metal arrangement of "Boss Opera" taken from the wonderful Howard-Drossin-Composed-Sega-Tunes-Album, "Virtual Sonic". I hope you dig the album art as well, even though it looks like a 9 year old slapped it together in 15 minutes with the most rudimentary of graphic tools I am well over 9, and it took me about 3 hours. :( ---------------------------- Time for thanks! Thank you Howard Drossin for composing wonderful music that has shaped a generation and heavily influenced my own musical development. - Thanks to AzuriteReaction again! Check out his YouTube Channel! He's a cool guy... - - http://www.youtube.com/user/azuritereaction - - Big thanks to John Baker who I believe composed the first 12 tracks on this album but I KNOW he did Toejam and Earl for a fact so the guy's clearly 'A' God if not 'THE' God. - Thanks again DJ SquareWave for the awesome rip! - Thanks to the team of Sega (1994-1998) for the awesome service and actually showing some care for the gamers! Hasn't been seen much in the gaming world since... - Thank you also, for listening to this wonderful music and making sure these memories live on. As long as people care, vintage gaming will last forever! ------------------------------ This isn't the end of my Sega Channel related activities. For now I'm designing a simple, inspired front-end for NeoGenesis. I am also working on creating a time capsule of sorts that will include videos, documentation, games, and a complex emulator frontend that will function like the Sega Channel but it will be so much more than that. Going by classic video footage and screenshots of the service in action, the fonts, backgrounds, sounds, windows, animations, music, intro, etc. will all be recreated by artists as best as possible and plenty of original user designed resources as well. The collection of historical material I am doing in my spare time right now but there is no set date on when the Sega Channel project will start. It will happen though and I shall let people know when it does. ------------------------------ If you have read this far than congratulations! You are a patient man that reads text files to the end, just like me! Here's a link to my YouTube account, I have some game-related music on it and you can contact me as well. http://www.youtube.com/user/ShotOfSelf One more thing, if you're into adventure gaming then check out this awesome fan made project! http://ultimate-agi-fangame.zzl.org/
